Aesop Exhibition of 1:10 timber models
May 2025
As part of my university studio, I exhibited my 1:10 timber models in Aesop Cambridge, as a collaborative opportunity for the studio and shop to emphasise their involvement with natural materials and local suppliers. I personally took over the management aspect of the preliminary work by setting up spreadsheets, which helped us distribute work among studio members and track progress in the production of publicity materials, stand construction, and booklet design and printing.
Wattle and Daub Workshop by Piliko in Filiatra
18th Sep 2024 - 23rd Sep 2024
In late September I participated in a practical and lecture-based wattle and daub workshop, in which I attended evening seminars led by professionals around the Balkans and the Mediterranean on the historic and contemporary use of natural materials in construction, inclusive of ongoing research and projects. From the practical workshop, we were able to test and identify soil composition, and produce sample panels to be exhibited in a temporary exhibition at the Folklore Museum of Kyparissia, for which I stayed a few more days to help set up.
Summer Placement with Mott Macdonald
5th Aug 2024 - 12th Sep 2024
I joined a team of over 50 members and observed the organisation behind the remote collaboration across offices. I took care of the visualisation and diagram creation of projects in their last stages, meaning I had to pick them up from a semi-resolved but evolving point and communicate with the whole team to summarise different aspects of the project into a clear whole picture.
Origini workshop on traditional construction methods in Dronero
20th July 2024 - 27th July 2024
I attended a week-long workshop in the small town of Dronero in Italy to learn about traditional building methods with a special focus on adobe brick construction through practice. The workshop also included lectures in between practical sessions. By the end of the week we produced an open-air seating and performance space in Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII for the public to use.
Volunteering for Heritage Foundation of Pakistan
15th Sep 2023 - 25th Sep 2023
Last summer, I joined a group of volunteers under a project by Architect Yasmeen Lari. Our group was sent with the aim of carrying out a survey of the Pono Village and neighbouring satellite villages to support the Foundation’s aid efforts following the devastating floods in Pakistan in 2022. In preparation for the trip, throughout August and September, we began exploring the concept of floating infrastructure to be prototyped on-site. During this experience, I practiced flexibility and teamwork while discussing the feasibility of the prototype with artisans on site.
Work Experience with Scott Brownrigg
31st May 2021 - 5th June 2021
During this remote experience, I attended morning presentations from the company on the structure of architectural firms with examples of past projects and their timelines while ongoing. In the afternoons we followed workshops taking us through the basics of SketchUp for Web and applying them on a team project with a brief in St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden.
